Scope and Content

Fonds consists of the official records of Tyendinaga Township, including Township Meetings, 1847-1849; Council Minutes, 1850-1964; By-laws, 1850-1958; Assessment and Collectors Rolls, 1855- 1966; Board of Health Minutes, 1923-1966; and Clerk-Treasurer's Records, 1919-1963.

Only records on microfilm are available at the Archives of Ontario. All paper records reside at the Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County.

Administrative History or Biographical Sketch

The Township of Tyendinaga, Hastings County, Ontario, was incorporated effective January 1, 1850 under the terms of the Baldwin Act, Chapter 81, Canada Statutes, 1849.
