Records include: cancelled cheques, cheque stubs, promissory notes, a copy of the 1875 Act of Insolvency for James Langton, proceedings of a meetings regarding the Langton estate, power of attorney records, telegrams and correspondence, accounts, bank statements, receipts, dividend sheets, lists of assets and liabilties, stock lists, tax bills, a summons, a notice to produce, a deed of transfer, claims against the estate from suppliers and local tradespeople, and notices of public auction and sale of James Langton's farm lands and other property.

James Langton (fl. 1875-1879) was a merchant in Minden, Ontario in the nineteenth century and filed for bankruptcy circa 1875.
