This fonds consists of the official records of Bowmanville, including Council Minutes, 1853-1952; By-laws, 1853-1962; Assessment and Collectors Rolls, 1879- 1961 (large gaps); and Treasurer's Records, 1856-1958.

Administrative History or Biographical Sketch

The Village of Bowmanville, Ontario, was incorporated through a proclamation issued on April 15,, 1852 under the terms of the Baldwin Act, Chapter 81, Canada Statutes, 1849.
