Fonds consists of the official records of Bertie Township, including Council Minutes, 1850-1969; By-laws, 1850- 1969; Assessment and Collectors Rolls, 1857-1969; miscellaneous Clerk- Treasurer's records, 1912-1966; and the records of local boards including Public Health, 1884-1946; Court of Revision, 1872-1968; Board of Police Commissioners, 1957-1967.

Administrative History or Biographical Sketch

The Township of Bertie, Welland County, Ontario, was incorporated January 1, 1850 under the terms of the Baldwin Act, Chapter 81, Canada Statutes, 1849.
