Fonds consists of the records of Fort William printer, union organiser and politician, Fred E. Moore. Fonds includes Moore's personal records such as bank account books, land deeds and correspondence. Fonds also contains correspondence relating to Moore' s printing business, 1914-1952. In addition, fonds includes broadsides for Fort William Independent Labour politicians as well as Moore's political speeches, 1923-1955. Also included are records and correspondence relating to Moore's labour union activities, 1912- 1961.
Fonds also contains scrapbooks and loose newspaper clippings compiled by Moore concerning various subjects such as: Moore's union and political career, anarchism, domestic family affairs, economic policy, education, journalism, moral reform, naval defence, poetry, socialism, temperance, trade unionism, reading, religion and women's rights.
Fonds also contains 18 photographs. Subjects include: Moore family members, the Fort William Fire Department, Fort William politicians and printers.
Fred E. Moore (1885-1964) was a businessman, labour union organiser and local politician in Fort William, Thunder Bay District, Ontario.
