Fonds consists of a minutebook and a cash book of the Township of Puslinch Farmersí Club. Included in the minutebook are lists of paid members and the executive of the Club, constitution and bylaws, newspaper clippings and a program regarding meetings, and minutes. Minutes relate to: agricultural issues discussed at meetings (including mixed farming, farm labour, dairy farming, horse breeding, crop rotation, insect control, animal diseases, the lifestyle of the farmer, and other issues); speakers invited to meetings; the annual dinner and dance; the collective purchasing of seed; competitions and the appointment of judges; and the appointment of delegates to the Central Farmersí Institute meeting in Toronto. Minutebook also contains minutes of some meetings of the South Wellington Farmersí Institute, as well as minutes of some joint meetings of this Institute and the Puslinch Farmersí Club. Also included are lists of members of the South Wellington Farmersí Institute for 1889 and 1890.
Cash book contains detailed lists of cash brought in by the Club, as well as expenses. Sources of income listed include: membership fees, proceeds of the annual dinner and dance, county grants, donations, and other sources. Expenses listed include: stationery, postage, advertisements of meetings, costs of holding the annual dinner and dance and seed fair, coal oil used to heat the meeting hall, and other expenses. Also included in the cash book are the accounts of the South Wellington Farmersí Institute for 1895, containing similar information as the accounts for the Puslinch Farmersí Club.
The Township of Puslinch Farmers' Club was formed in 1874 for the advancement of agricultural interests in Puslinch Township, Wellington County, Ontario.
