Scope and Content

Film is a comedy about how a married couple originally met. Film was shot at the Wedgewood Restaurant, 2448 Bloor Street West, near Jane, Toronto. Jim Birnie and Gladys Smith play the couple. Ford Smith plays the waiter and Marg Birnie plays the cigarette girl. AB Hutchinson, Lil Saba, and Jack and Ada Chapman portray the other diners. The Toronto Movie Club (TCM) produced the film, which was directed by Dr. Charles E. Phillips and filmed by Len Mitchell. Vern Whitnall was responsible for title design, and Jack Chapman and AB Hutchinson did the lighting.

Film was screened at the 1960 Convention of the Photographic Society of America in Houston, Texas. "The Toronto Movie Club : Its First Fifty Years, 1934 - 1984" p. 38, provides additional details about this film. Also includes text regarding image dropouts, from within the original container. However, the text description doesn't seem to match the actual film.

Notes

There is also a 16 mm film with this title. The date written within the film is 1960, but the film may have been printed in ca.1974.
