File consists of oral history records documenting the life and career of Sydney Harris (b. 1917), a Toronto-area lawyer who became a judge in 1977. Interview topics include: University of Toronto; Osgoode Hall Law School; articling; early practice; Harris and Rubenstein, 1949-1976; select cases; Canadian Jewish Congress, President, 1974-1977; opinion of death penalty; select cases; Body Politic case; effect of the charter; R. v. Ciccarelli. Interview conducted by Christine J.N. Kates. File includes five audio cassette recordings from a series of two interviews and a transcript with index (137 p.).
