Scope and Content

File consists of oral history records documenting the life and career of John Clement (b. 1928), Attorney General (Jan. - Sept. 1975). Interview topics include: early life; early law practice; election as Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) 1971; Legislative Committee Chairman; relationship with Ministry of Attorney General; Attorneys General; Ministry of Solicitor General; Provincial Secretary for Justice; relationship with Attorney General, Solicitor General, Justice Critics. Interview conducted by Cynthia Smith. File includes five audio cassettes from a series of two interviews, a transcript with index (153 p.) and a copy of a release form.
