File consists of oral history records documenting the life and career of Justice Archie G. Campbell (1942-2007), former Assistant Deputy Attorney General, Policy, (1978-1981) and judge for the Supreme Court of Ontario and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice from 1986 to the time of his death in April of 2007. This interview concerns his personal and professional history and was conducted as part of the Attorney General Project. Interview topics include: early years; differences between Crown Law Officers and Crown Attorneys; White Paper on Courts Administration; Justices of the Peace and court reform; Policy Branch early days; process of Cabinet submissions; Crown Law Office; impact of Charter on Ontario Statutes; white collar crime prosecution; Aboriginal issues; Ministry Estimates Process; review of 1981-1983 Annual Report; race relations; report on class actions and Attorney Generals and Deputy Attorney Generals, among others. File includes twelve audio cassette recordings and a transcript with index (261 p.).
