File consists of oral history records documenting the life and career of Justice Roy Mitchell (b. 1942) who was appointed Provincial Court Judge in 1973. This interview concerns his personal and professional history and was conducted as part of the Provincial Court Project. Interview topics include: family background and history; Osgoode Hall Law School; move to Thunder Bay; bringing law to the north; criminal law and select cases, among others. File consists of oral history records documenting the life and career of Donald Fraser (b. 1942), a lawyer who was called to the bar in 1976, and was appointed Provincial Court Judge in 1988. This interview concerns his personal and professional history and was conducted as part of the Provincial Court Project. Interview topics include: family background and history; establishment of Kenora practice; education process - provincial judges, 1988; court house security; types of defendants in criminal court; Legal Aid; French Language services and relationship with Queen’s Park bureaucracy, among others. File consists of two audio cassette recordings and a transcript with index (64 p.).
