File consists of oral history records documenting the life and career of Edward C. Burton (b. 1931), former Regional Director of Crown Attorneys, North Western District, Ontario. Interview topics include: early career; first employment as crown, Ministry of Attorney General; Deputy Attorney General William Common; Attorney Generals Kelso Roberts, Roy McMurtry, Arthur Wishart; life as a Northern Crown; northern districts; courts on reserves; First Nations and native justice. Interview conducted by Cynthia Smith. File includes four audio cassette recordings, a transcript with index (122 p.), and a copy of the release form.
