File consists of oral history records documenting the life and career of Karen Weiler (b. 1945), a lawyer who was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1969. She was appointed to the District Court of Ontario in 1980, the Ontario High Court in 1989, and the Court of Appeal in 1992. Interview topics include: family background and history; University of Saskatchewan Law School; Weiler and Weiler, Thunder Bay; juvenile work; Ministry of Community and Social Services; Policy Division, Ministry of the Attorney General; women judges; criminal cases; Family Law Act; assizes in country towns; merger of the courts, 1990 and judges conferences, among others. File consists of five audio cassette recordings and a transcript with index (198 p.).
