File consists of oral history records documenting the life and career of John Brooke (b. 1928), a lawyer who was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1961. He was appointed to the High Court of Justice in 1963, and the Court of Appeal in 1969. Interview topics include: family background and history; Osgoode Hall Law School; Chair, Legal Aid Advisory Committee; cases as counsel; arbitrations; administration of High Court cases; Divisional Court; Justices of the Court of Appeal; and select cases, among others. File consists of eight audio cassette recordings and a transcript with index (165 p.).
