Scope and Content

Series consists of orders relating to approvals for a variety of transactions involving independent telephone companies in Ontario. These orders were required by the Telephone Act and pertain to such transactions as sales of telephone systems, rate changes, and agreements regarding interchanges of service. In addition to the orders, this series also contains correspondence relating to these orders.

Series is arranged numerically by order number. Order files for the years 1915 to 1954 are arranged alphabetically by telephone company name.
