Scope and Content

Fonds consists of personal and financial records of John and William Pendergast. Records of John Pendergast include deeds, records relating to land transactions, records created during the settlement of the estate of his brother, correspondence, land deeds, property disputes, accounts, tax bills, wills, and cheque stubs. Records of William Pendergast include bills, notebooks containing personal financial accounts, and tax bills.

Fonds also contains documents relating to the estate of George Woodruff, patents, and a military service certificate of John Medock.

Administrative History or Biographical Sketch

The Pendergast family were fruit growers who lived near Queenston, Lincoln County (now Niagara), Ontario during the nineteenth century.

John Pendergast (1841-1912) was a fruitgrower in Niagara, Ontario during the nineteenth century.

William Pendergast (d. 1890) was a fruit grower in the Niagara area of Ontario during the nineteenth century.
