Fonds consists of textual records that are primarily letters to Charles Shaw Band from prominent Canadians and three reels of home movies depicting recreational activities of the Band family between 1925 and the 1940s.

Immediate Source of Acquisition 

The textual records were acquired in 1971 from Charles Shaw Band's wife, Mrs. Helen W. Band. Charles Shaw Band's son, John T. Band, donated the films in 2001.
