Scope and Content

The photograph depicts the South African War (Boer War) Memorial dedication ceremony in Toronto, Ontario in 1910. Located at University Avenue and Queen Street West, the memorial commemorates Canada's participation in the Boer War and was designed by Walter S. Allward. Brigadier-General the Honourable James Mason is identified in the photograph. Sir John Morison Gibson, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, also features prominently in the photograph.
