Fonds consists of records created and collected by Gary Posen throughout his career in the Ontario Public Service.
Fonds consists of job descriptions and career goals, performance reviews, letters of recommendation, thank you notes from government officials for contributions made by Gary Posen on projects and conferences, including a thank you note from Buckingham Palace, reports written by Gary Posen, newspaper articles about his accomplishments, letters and cards from friends and colleagues.
Fonds also contains invitations, programmes, and menus from multiple events, galas and ceremonies that Gary Posen attended over him career, such as the Consular Ball, the Royal Visit of their Majesty's Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of York, the Papal visit in 1984, and many other visits from international delegations.
Fonds contains photographs commemorating important events throughout Gary Posen's career. Included are photographs of Posen signing the Patriation Agreement and Constitution Act of 1984, the signing of the Ontario / Jiangsu Twinning Agreement, a photograph of the first recipients of the Order of Ontario, two photographs of the Hagarsville Tire Fire, as well as photographs taken at several of the Annual Premiers' Conferences and the First Ministers' Conference on the Constitution, with several photographs depicting Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Jean Chrétien, Premier William Davis and others. There are also many photographs of Gary Posen at dinners and parties and with colleagues.
Artifacts consist of a framed photograph and card commemorating Gary Posen's visit aboard the USS Stark, a plaque with a signed certificate and photograph of the Royal licence plate from the 1984 Royal Visit to Ontario, and a signed certificate and photograph of the Papal licence plate from the visit of Pope John Paul II to Ontario also in 1984.
Drawing is a political cartoon with the subtitle: "It is not being held to gang up on the federal government."
Gary Posen was an Ontario public servant and held several deputy ministerial posts during his career, including Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Deputy Minister of the Environment.
