Collection mainly consists of maps and tourism promotion pamphlets relating to Ontario and its constituent parts. The materials were produced by various private companies and organizations as well as municipal, provincial, and federal governments.
Many of the items are road maps and geographical maps of the entire province as well as certain cities, counties and regions. These include Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, York Region, Simcoe County (including Barrie, Orillia, Midland, Collingwood and Wasaga Beach), Peterborough and the Kawartha Lakes, Prince Edward County, Muskoka, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, and others. Also included in the collection is a road atlas covering south-central Ontario, from Oshawa to the Niagara Peninsula.
Along with road maps, the collection also contains maps with special foci, including a real estate map of Kingston and area, a map of Tim Hortons' locations across Ontario, a fishing map for the Bay of Quinte, and maps produced by the Huronia Tourism Association highlighting areas of interest in Simcoe County. There are also several maps of snowmobiling routes as well as a souvenir pin produced by the Ontario Federation of Snowmobiling Clubs. The collection also includes tourism promotion pamphlets focussing on Toronto, Hamilton and St. Catharines.
Publications such as pamphlets and guides concerning Ontario travel and tourism were also donated by Mr. Malecki and are accessible through the Archives of Ontario Library.
Most items are in good condition. Some have minor tears, cracking along fold lines and small stains.
