Fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used by Hike Ontario, as it carried out its mandate as an organization representing hikers across Ontario.
The records document the formation and growth of Hike Ontario and the concerns and activities of its members.
Fonds contains administrative records of the association, Hike Ontario's constitution and incorporation papers, minutes of executive committee meetings, correspondence, reports, and financial records.
Fonds also includes conference records, publications, trail audits, records of hike leader training programs, work vacations and other records which document the programs and services of Hike Ontario and the initiatives it has undertaken.
Fonds is arranged into operational files, financial records, and executive records and publications.
Hike Ontario is the umbrella organization that represents and serves the needs of hiking groups and associations in Ontario. It was formed in 1974 as the Federation of Ontario Hiking Trails Association, but now operates under the name Hike Ontario.
