Scope and Content

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Morton Katz during his career as an architect, sculptor and teacher. It includes architectural and technical drawings, photographs and a variety of textual materials. The records mainly document the projects Katz proposed or completed in his private practice, however a few of the files derive from his earlier work with other architectural firms.

The fonds also includes drawings and other work completed by Katz as a student at the University of Toronto and reference files kept by Katz throughout his career. It also includes a series of teaching and research records created and accumulated by Katz in his role as a professor at the University of Toronto. The research files document Katz's interest in, and experimentation with, innovative building designs for use in northern and arctic climates.
