Fonds consists of the official records of Montague Township, including Council Minutes, 1853-1965; By-laws, 1850- 1934; Assessment and Collectors Rolls, 1854-1964; Cash Books, 1898-1971; and miscellaneous records, 1864-1969.

Administrative History or Biographical Sketch

The Township of Montague, Lanark County, Ontario, was incorporated effective January 1, 1850 under the terms of the Baldwin Act, Chapter 81, Canada Statutes, 1849.
