Scope and Content

Series consists of oral history interviews conducted by Osgoode Society as special or sponsored projects.

The projects are, specifically: Williston Reminiscences Project (1992); Regional Project (1993); Advocates' Society Project (1994-2001, 2003-2009, 2011); Ontario Provincial Court Project (Criminal, Family, and Civil branches) (1992-2011); Hamilton Law Association Project (1995, 1997-1998); Gowling, Strathy, Henderson Project (1996-1997); Parkdale Project (1997); Legal Aid Project (1998, 2000, 2005); Masters Project (1999-2002); Laskin Project (1999); Court of Appeal Project (2000-2002); Attorney General Project (2000-2005); Treasurers' Project (2002, 2004-2005, 2008, 2010); Superior Court, Family Division (2002- 2004); Estates Project (2003-2004); Personal Injury Lawyers Project (2003-2004); Justice of Peace Project (2004-2005); Law Society Project (2005); Black Lawyers and Judges Project (2010); Attorney General and African Canadian Project (2008).

Series includes audio cassette tapes with accompanying transcriptions. Series also includes other related textual and photographic materials including copies of correspondence sent from Osgoode Society to interviewees, copies of release forms and photographs of some of the interviewees.

Each file comprises records from a series of interviews or a single interview with one interviewee. Files have been arranged first into groups by project and second by approximate chronological order.

Access to original audio recordings is restricted. Reference copies will be made upon request.
