Scope and Content

Series consists of two extracts of inquisitions held in Newcastle District under the authority of "An Act to declare certain persons therein described Aliens and to vest their Estates in His Majesty, Whereby any real Estate or Estates have been vested in His Majesty" (Statutes of Upper Canada 1814, chapter 9).

Item RG 22-3768-0-1 is an extract of the inquisition pertaining to Gardner Brown, Francis Burnham, Roswell Culver, Cornelius Degroat, Thomas Harrison, Nathanial Nickerson and Eldrige Stanton, and describes the properties forfeited by them to the Crown.

Item RG 22-3768-0-1 is an extract of the inquisition dealing with William Beebee and Jacob Odel, and describes the properties forfeited by them to the Crown. Included in the information given is name and "last place of abode" of the individuals; a description of property forfeited; date of inquisition; and the names of Commissioners and dates of returns.
