Ontario Government Record Series RG 22-3560
40 centimetres of textual records
Series consists of records documenting the Nipissing District Surrogate Court's responsibility in relation to the Dionne Quintuplets' guardianship. Included are the original letters of guardianship (1934), accounts (financial statements, invoices, receipts) pertaining to the first legislated guardianship (1935-1937) passed before the Court, audits and orders passing accounts of the first and second legislated guardianships (1935-1942) and accounts pertaining to Emilie Dionne's estate passed before the Surrogate Court (1955, 1964-1970).
Executors, administrators, trustees under a will and guardians of infants could voluntarily pass their accounts before the Surrogate Court or they could be called upon to do so on the application of any interested person. These accounts were to act as an inventory of the property of an estate.
See also Series RG 4-53, Official Guardian Dionne Quintuplets guardianship records. See RG 22-366, Nipissing District Surrogate Court estate files, for the estate file of Emilie Dionne (File # 3044).
