Series consists of the files and the report of the Ministerial Commission on French-Language Secondary Education (also known as the Symons Commission).
Series contains briefs submitted to the Commission; incoming and outgoing correspondence between the Commission and school boards, French-language advisory committees, francophone and educational associations, parents groups, and other jurisdictions; copies of press releases and newspaper clippings; copies of reports and documentation on education in Ontario and minority-language education in other jurisdictions; the final report of the commission; and petitions submitted to the Minister of Education following the publication of the Commission's report.
The files are arranged in three separate groups. The first group is a general set of correspondence files chronologically by date; the second group are subject files in rough alphabetical order; and the third group is briefs sorted alphabetically by municipality of origin.
