Series consists of the administrative and operational files and the report of the Commission on French-Language Schools (also known as the Bériault Commission) collected during its work in preparing legislation for the establishment of French-language secondary schools and in studying the broad spectrum of French-language education in Ontario.
Records include copies of speeches, reports and memoranda; reports, memoranda and briefs to the Commission; correspondence between the Commission and researchers; newspaper clippings; reference materials; and drafts and interim and final reports of the Commission.
Subjects covered by these records include various aspects of French-language education in Ontario including statistics and curriculum; minority-language education in Quebec and New Brunswick; and new legislation proposed by the Commission.
