Ontario Government Record Series RG 1-25
3 volumes of textual records
Series consists of "Schedule[s] of land located or entered on the plans in the Surveyor General's office under old dates.and for which no description has been issued". Entries are grouped by district, and within each district, by township, then by concession. The entries point out discrepancies between names recorded on various plans held by the Surveyor General's Office which cover the same township. For each lot where a discrepancy exists the following information is recorded: a description of the plans which are being compared, and the names of locatees appearing on the plans; and the lot and concession of the property involved. Entries may be annotated with the following types of information; whether a description was issued at one time and later cancelled and the land reopened; order-in-council numbers; and whether the order-in-council was stayed for the payment of fees. The schedules were prepared by the Surveyor General and submitted to the Lieutenant Governor.
See Series RG 1-50 which contains copies of orders-in-council.
