Scope and Content

Series consists of copies of statements and returns prepared by or for the Surveyor General's Office and the Crown Lands Department, relating to the lease of Crown lands and clergy reserves.

The statements are comparative in nature, documenting a number of years activities. Many of these statements were prepared at the request of the Legislative Assembly or the Executive Council, for the Commissioner of Crown Land's annual report, or for inclusion in the Blue Books of Statistics which were compiled to provide colonial officials and the Colonial Office with statistical data / reports on a variety of subjects.

Original records, with the exception of File RG 1-20-0-20 and File RG 1-20-0-21, are closed for conservation reasons.
