F 4378 Order Sons of Italy of Canada fonds
Series consists of records created by officers of the Imperia Lodge of the Order Sons of Italy of Canada in the administration of membership and other lodge activities.
These records document the following functions of the lodge: local-level administration of membership in the Order Sons of Italy and the Mutual Benefit Society; administration of lodge finances including payment of dues; organization of and participation in conventions, special events and meetings; participation in charitable activities; advocacy for the Italian-Canadian community, and regulatory activities, such as the creation and amendment of the constitution and bylaws.
This series has been arranged into categorical groupings by record type. These categories are: correspondence (1955-1972), financial records (1951), membership lists (1948-1971), membership admission forms (1937-1971), insurance records (1936-1972), registration cards (1951-1967), wills (1969-1970), clippings (1946-1989), and photographs (1929-1969).
The Imperia Lodge, established in 1938, was a Hamilton-based female lodge of the Order Sons of Italy of Canada.
