Scope and Content

Series consists of records created by officers of the Aurora Lodge of the Order Sons of Italy of Canada in the administration of membership and other lodge activities.

These records document the following functions of the lodge: local-level administration of membership in the Order Sons of Italy and the Mutual Benefit Society; administration of lodge finances including payment of dues; meetings; and regulatory activities, such as the creation and amendment of the constitution and bylaws.

Series has been arranged into categorical groupings by record type. These categories are: correspondence (1948-1970), financial records (1947-1951), membership lists (1960-1971), membership admission forms (1963-1982), insurance records (1939-1979), and registration cards (1945, 1957-1967].

Administrative History or Biographical Sketch

Established in 1939, the Aurora Lodge (previously named the Impero Italico Lodge) represents the membership of Cambridge and surrounding areas in the Order Sons of Italy of Canada.
