Fonds consists of the official records of Trafalgar Township, including Assessment and Collector's Rolls, School Assessment Rolls, Accounts, Ledgers, Journal, Mortgage Ledger, General Township Accounts, Poll Book, Treasurers' Account Book, Township Account Book, and Auditors' Reports. The fonds also includes a Township Record Book, which contains the Township Council's minutes, by-laws passed, lists of the township's officials, and a register of oaths administered by the Township Clerk.
The Township of Trafalgar, Halton County, Ontario, was incorporated effective January 1, 1850 under the terms of the Baldwin Act, Chapter 81, Canada Statutes, 1849.
