Series consists of certificates given to immigrants at the various points of embarkation in Canada by agents representing the Province of Ontario. On arrival at the port, these certificates were to be registered and stamped as evidence of their arrival. After three months residence in Ontario the individual could submit the certificate to the agent in Toronto for payment of a Refund Bonus of six dollars per adult.
The certificates can include such information as the name of the ship, port of embarkation, date of sailing, names, ages, nationality, occupation, date of arrival at Quebec and address in Ontario.
The records are filed alphabetically by surname.
