Ontario Government Record Series RG 11-10
5 centimetres of textual records
Series consists of receipts issued by emigration agents at various points in the United Kingdom to emigrants destined for Ontario. These individuals had received a pre-paid bonus of six dollars per adult for passage, with the stipulation that they proceed directly to Ontario and reside there for at least three months.
These receipts were submitted to the immigration agency in Toronto by the immigrant on their arrival in the province as proof of residence.
The receipts record the name of the emigrant, the number of people in the party, the total amount paid in adult bonuses, their destination in Ontario and date of receipt.
