Series consists of agreements, prepared by the Surveyor General's Office and signed by locatees on land or their representatives, in which they agreed to perform settlement duties in exchange for a grant of land. These duties, laid out by regulation, consisted of: actual settlement on the land in question; clearing and fencing 5 acres of land within an 18-month period; and erecting a 20' by 18' house within one year. The agreements record the settlement duties agreed upon, as well as the date of the agreement, the name of the locatee, and the township in question.
