Scope and Content

Series consists of registers, also known as probate and administration books, which contain the Huron County Surrogate Court's copy of all grants of probate (in estates with wills) and administration (estates without wills). Until 1892, these volumes also contain grants of guardianship.

Until 1887, these indexes do not contain direct references to entries in the Registers but, by using the the grant number and year given in the index, you can locate the corresponding entry in the Registers.
