Scope and Content

Series consists of registers for the Peel County Surrogate Court. Registers, also known as probate and administration books, contain the court's copy of all grants of probate (in estates with wills) and administration (estates without wills) issued by the Peel County Surrogate Court. From 1913, they also contain grants of guardianship. Beginning in 1889, estate file (application) and guardianship file numbers are added in the margin.
