Ontario Government Record Series RG 22-154
14 volumes of textual records
Series consists of registers kept by the Registrar of the court to serve as the Court of Probate's record of all grants of probate or administration issued by the court.
After 1827, the registers also record all appointments of guardianship made by the court. As there was no prescribed format to which the books had to conform, the content of the books varies over time.
Typically, the entries consist of transcripts of wills in cases of probate, transcripts of letters of administration in cases of administration, and transcripts of orders of appointment in cases of guardianship. Sometimes also included are transcripts of relevant affidavits, oaths, petitions, and orders.
Each volume is indexed. There is also a single alphabetical index to volumes A through N (RG 22-154-0-14).
The final entries for Register F for November-December 1842 are entered at the back of Register E.
