Series consists of records created by members of the Ontario Milk Marketing Board responsible for the daily operation of the Ontario Dairy Princess program and by Ontario Dairy Princesses in their official capacity as employees of the Ontario Milk Marketing Board.
Records include memos, briefing reports, meeting minutes, ledgers, invoices, financial reports, correspondence, news clippings, magazines, promotional material, application forms, judging and contestant kits, and journals. Records also include artifacts related to the Dairy Princess program including name tags, fabric swatch samples, and sheets of labels.
Series also includes photographs of each Ontario Dairy Princess and of the Ontario Dairy Princess competition held annually at the Canadian National Exhibition. Also included are photographs of several Ontario Dairy Princesses while in England, and photographs of dairy representatives from other jurisdictions, including the Dairy Queen of England and Wales.
Records from 1956 to 1959 refer to the Ontario Dairy Queen program, reflecting the original name of the program until it was changed to the Ontario Dairy Princess program in 1960. Records from 1993 refer to the Ontario Dairy Educator program, the successor to the Ontario Dairy Princess program.
Records in this series were produced primarily by the Ontario Milk Marketing Board, but also include records and correspondence from the Canadian National Exhibition and other dairy marketing boards and associations from other jurisdictions in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, including the Dairy Council of the United Kingdom.
