1163 MB of photographs (pdf, jpeg)
Consists of 7 scrapbooks created by Jackie MacDonald containing news and magazine clippings, photographs, postcards, brochures, invitations, correspondence and sports crests documenting her athletic career in Ontario and internationally during the 1950s. Also included is a biography and finding aid to the scrapbooks titled "Jackie MacDonald: Her life as an athlete as seen through her scrapbooks." This cerlox-bound volume gives an overview of all the scrapbooks and was written by Jackie MacDonald to assist researchers in navigating her work.
Each scrapbook includes an account of Jackie MacDonald's athletic activities, her curriculum vitae and a short biography. The biographical portion documents MacDonald's frustration with the treatment she received as a female athlete and the general lack of support for Canadian and Ontario athletes. Each book is annotated and includes dates, sources and the names of photographers where possible.
Digital photographs of many of the scrapbook pages are also included, but do not replicate the scrapbooks in their entirety.
