Series consists of black and white aerial photography created by the Department of Lands and Forests likely for publicity purposes. Photography consists of low oblique and high oblique aerial photography as well as some vertical aerial photography.
Series contains photographs taken in various locations, primarily in Northern Ontario, including: Albert Lake, Chapleau, Dalton Mill, Dome Mnes, Eagle Lake, Elk Lake, Emerald Lake, Fort Hope, Gargantua Harbour, Gold Pines, Goose Island, Hawk Junction, Helen Mine, Hubert Lake, Kapuskasing, Lake Nipigon, Longlac, McIntyre, Michipicoten, Missinaibi Lake, Nicholson, Ogoki, Ottawa, Peterborough, Pine Ridge, Sault Ste. Marie, Schumacher, Smokey Falls, South Porcupine, St. Williams, Thessalon, Timagami Lake, Timmins, Tweed, the Twin cities of Port Arthur and Fort William, and Wawa.
Photographs in this series depict forests and rivers, mines, mills, elevators, harbours and shipping, log booms, floating muskeg, roundhouses and other rail infrastructure, hydroelectric stations, town and city centres, sites along the Algoma Central Railway and other railway lines, and hangars operated by the Provincial Air Service.
Series includes a creator-generated listing of the photos in the series.
