Fonds consists mainly of Boulton family correspondence referring to the Napoleonic Wars, the War of 1812, and political and private matters. Fonds also includes commissions appointing Boulton to various positions, as well as passports, and a family crest.

Henry John Boulton (1790-1870) was a member of the Legislative Assembly for Upper Canada, and served as Solicitor- General and Attorney- General for Upper Canada.
